Film “Nacionalna galerija” vodi publiku iza kulisa ove londonske institucije na put ka srcu muzeja naseljenog remek-djelima zapadnjačke umjetnosti, sve od srednjovjekovlja do 19. stoljeća. “Nacionalna galerija” je portret mjesta, njen način funkcionisanja i stvaranja veza sa svijetom, svojim osobljem i javnošću, i sa svojim slikama. U vječitoj i vrtoglavoj igri ogledala, film gleda slike koje gledaju film.    

Frederick Wiseman (rođen 1. januara 1930.) je američki filmski autor, tvorac dokumentarnih filmova i teatarski režiser. Tokom vremena, njegovi su filmovi postali umješnija tvorevina opservacija, svjedočanstava, refleksija, kao i odsustva predrasuda, te hrabrosti i humora.
